ALL ABOUT EVE
|
Eve has been involved in the entertainment industry for most of her life.
Born under the sound of Bow Bells, she moved to Essex at the age of 3 and began dancing lessons at a school in Goodmayes. She remembers being picked up by the teacher, kicking and screaming as she did not want to go to the class, however, she went on to attain certificates from the RAD, ISTD and NATD in a range of subjects - Ballet, Tap, Modern and Ballroom. During this time Eve and her family spent their Saturdays going to the see the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, meeting many of its stars (including Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nureyev on the eve of his first performance in the UK after defecting from Russia). |
,As the world of dance is a notoriously difficult one in which to stay employed, Eve was despatched to Pitman's College as a back-up and after doing a two year secretarial course, she started working at Austin Reed, in their PR Department. Further PR, Advertising and Media jobs followed and when she met and married husband Peter, who is an entertainer and public speaker himself, she then went on to work for the PR Department at Polydor Records.
Later, after a move out to the Essex countryside, Eve and Peter started a variety company to raise money for various charities and encourage young people to develop their performing skills. It was during this time that Eve learned to perform magic and subsequently worked as a professional magicienne for three years and became one of the first females to be admitted to the International Brotherhood of Magicians. In 1991, she decided to follow a full time career in the entertainment industry and set up her theatrical agency and event management company, Showstoppers |

In 2003, Eve joined BBC Essex as part of their Events Diary Team and even covered the Early Morning Show as a presenter but has also appeared on the station on several occasions. This is what Tim Gillett, Programmes Editor says about her "Thanks for being on the show, you have a naturalness on air which I have always thought...plus there is a tinge of excitement and fun in your voice" Still, diversifying into public speaking came as a bit of a surprise as, although Eve had achieved two high level passes in the subject whilst at college, it was not one she was fond of. So, when a friend suggested she did talks about her life, it was with some reluctance that she agreed. The rest, as they say, is history!! Nowadays, Eve and Peter lead a much quieter life, along with their retired racing greyhound called Aiden, who follows in the paw-steps of their two previous hounds, Dillon and Patrick. Eve's passion for greyhounds led her to undertake the role of Press Officer for the Great Global Greyhound Walk, which she did for three years and also was Show Presenter for the Greyhound Walks Show.
In her spare time, Eve enjoys theatre, music, reading and cooking, but admits to being permanently attached to her phone and spending far too much time on social media sites. |
